High in the country outside Raton, we hunt two private ranches — roughly 15,000 (Raton, West Ranch) and the 14,000 acres (Raton East Ranch)— that deliver genuine trophy potential and best of all, there's no draw to gamble on: pick your season and the dates are yours.
Each ranch is hunted just one party at a time, so the elk are never pressured, and the country stays fresh from your first morning to your last. Seasons stretch from early-September archery, through the October rut, and a chance to hunt into the December late-season bull hunts — giving you the freedom to choose the hunt you want, whether that's bugling bulls in the timber or heavy-horned giants on the move in the snow.
Accommodations on Raton West Ranch are nice lodge based. Raton East you are in a 3 bedroom home on the ranch you are hunting. However you choose to hunt them, these northern ranches are some of the best in fully guided New Mexico elk hunting.
