Unit 34 and Unit 36 border the renowned Mescalero Indian reservation; hunters on the Mescalero can expect to pay $18,000 to $20,000 for the same quality bulls we are hunting on our private ranches! We limit our private ranch elk hunting each year; this ensures the very highest harvest rates and quality animals season after season and year after year. In the past few years our hunters have harvested a 380 bow bull as well as many 340-360+ rifle bulls from our ranches. Best of all – we boast 7 years of 90% success and 100% opportunity – keeping our hunters returning year after year!

We offer simply the very best private ranch hunting in New Mexico. Hunting continues to gets better each week as we move into the late season months. Nov-Dec-Jan can offer up our highest success rates as well as the most bulls sighted each day! Hunts are spot and stalk on foot. Most days you will walk high on the ridges and glass for bulls as you move from area to area. Once bulls are located we will stalk them or set a plan in place for that evening or the next morning.

These private ranch hunts are limited to a very small number of hunters each year so don’t miss out, call today!

Our Ranches:

Unit 34 Private Ranch Hunts: At nearly 50,000 acres this is our largest ranch in the area and the largest piece of privately managed land in the entire Unit 34. We are proud to say some of our guides have been on this ranch for over 25 years and their family settled this land. Watching as four generations of the family are still here great unit 34 bullranching makes this a special hunt for us. Our rancher’s young children look like they might be as into chasing elk as they are into chasing cattle and horses! This ranch spans from 6-8 miles wide in many areas to over 17 miles at its longest. You will not see a quarter of this ranch no matter how hard you hunt. Success rates have been a very strong 90% or better most years. We have limited the number of landowner vouchers we make available here for the past 8 years and it’s paid off well. 280-320 bulls are the norm here, but we kill a number of 320-360+ plus bulls every year. You could see and harvest a 320+ bull on any given day – that’s why this ranch is such a gem. This is spot and stalk hunting at its finest; we don’t sit water much here, but choose to get high and glass. This ranch is made for glassing – pinion and juniper country as far as you can see with large meadows and open hillsides that load up with elk late season. We have some lung busting hills, but a lot of the ranch has a nice gentle roll to it.

Lodging for our private ranch hunts in Unit 34: All early season bow and October ranch hunts will be based from our main tent camp located in Unit 34. The early season hunting is great on the northern and northwestern corners of the ranch. In order to keep drive times down we like to stay at the main camp. Cooks, private tents and hot showers make this the total outback hunting experience, with private lands to hunt all day.
Unit 34 Elk private hunt houseA small cabin will be your home away from home on late season hunts (after Oct 30th). Its location offers out-the-backdoor hunting all fall and winter and easy access to the rest of the ranch. Our cabin has a shower, a small living room area and 1 bedroom with twin bunks. Meals are organized and prepared by my wife, and taken to the cabin where they will be served to you by your guide. You will not forget the guides, hunts or meals on this ranch, and the elk? Well, you’ll be looking at them every day in your trophy room!

Unit 36 Private Ranch Elk Hunting: Our guides have been hunting the monster bulls of New Mexico Unit 36 since before anyone outside New Mexico really knew the caliber of bulls here. We are fortunate to have a strong crew of local guides that live right here in the area. Our almost 7,000 acre ranch is legendary for the massive bulls that made Unit 36 famous. Like our Unit Unit-36-Private-Ranch-Hunting-web-234 ranch, we are blessed here with a long term lease allowing us to manage the bulls and limit the number of hunters. With a desired 300” minimum we plan to keep dropping 300-350+average bulls here for years. We highly recommend late season dates in Nov-Dec-Jan. for this ranch, making this an ideal choice for those who have a hard time clearing their schedule in the fall. This ranch is a little rougher and steeper country but does offer some of the biggest bulls of our private ranch choices. We can customize the trip to meet the needs of the hunter, but clients need to understand as a whole, Unit 36 is a little rougher than other areas of New Mexico. This landlocked location is a safe haven for the areas bulls, as well as the location of some of the only year round water for miles in any direction. As this ranch boarders the Mescalero Indian Reservation, you never know what you’ll find here. Bulls over 360 are possible on any given day and bulls in the 400’s hold the ranch records!

Lodging for our private ranch Unit 36 hunts: is a small cabin located in the middle of the ranch. Our cabin has a shower, a small living room area and 1 bedroom. It’s a UNit-36-Ranch-house-lodging-websuper nice cabin but it’s located off the grid, so no power other than a generator and solar powered lights. Heater is propane. It’s a cozy cabin with custom woodwork and a nice little deck. Meals are organized and prepared by my wife, and taken to the cabin where they will be served to you by your guide. You will not forget the guides, hunts or meals on this ranch, and the elk? Well, you’ll be looking at them every day in your trophy room!
